India has a rich heritage of flora and fauna because of its diverse climatic and topological conditions.

        Explanation:

India has multiple terrains, climates, soils, vegetation etc. For example, India has got mountains, river basins, deserts, forests, plateaus, glaciers and almost all types of terrain. India also has various climatic zones with a wide range of temperatures.

Due to all this variation, India can support thousands of different species of plants and animals. India thus hosts as many as 47,000 species of plants and 90,000 species of animals according to recent surveys.
