Adolescence is the transitional period of development between childhood and adulthood, characterized by significant physical, cognitive, emotional, and social changes.

It typically begins around the onset of puberty and ends when the individual reaches full physical and psychological maturity, usually in the early twenties.

        Changes:

Here are three changes that commonly occur during adolescence:

        1. Physical Changes: Adolescence is a time of significant physical changes, marked by the onset of puberty and the development of secondary sexual characteristics such as breast development in females, and facial hair growth in males. Other physical changes include rapid growth, changes in body composition, and hormonal fluctuations that can lead to mood swings, acne, and changes in sexual desire.

        2. Cognitive Changes: Adolescents experience significant cognitive changes, including an increase in abstract thinking, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to think critically. Adolescents become more self-aware and self-conscious, and they begin to develop their own identities and sense of morality.

        3. Social Changes: Adolescents become more independent and start to form their own social networks outside of their families. They seek to establish their own identity, often by rejecting the values and beliefs of their parents or other authority figures. Peer relationships become increasingly important, and adolescents may experience peer pressure to conform to social norms and engage in risky behaviours.
