The liver contains enzymes and molecules which forms Urea from ammonium, body wastes etc.
Option 2: Conversion of Glucose into Glycogen
The liver converts Glucose into Glycogen in a process called Glycogenesis wherein glucose molecules are added to chains of glycogen for storage.
4. Destruction of Dead and Worn Out Red Blood Cells
This is the main functionality of the Liver. Destruction of worn-out red blood cells happens in the liver and spleen. Bilirubin is formed as a product of this process. Bilirubin is a red-orange compound that occurs in the normal catabolic pathway that breaks down heme (precursor of haemoglobin) in vertebrates.
