In tincture of iodine, iodine is the solute, alcohol and water is solvent.

The structure of the tincture of iodine is 2-7 % of the iodine and the remaining is either sodium or potassium iodide.

Iodine tincture is an antiseptic used to disinfect the wounds, just for knowledge.
